Last week I had the opportunity to go to cessna's factory in Independence, KS to accept the delivery of 5 brand new 172R's with the G1000 cockpit. SIU will be adding these planes to their training fleet next year, and I was one of the lucky 5 students were were picked to go to the factory.

We took off under a GORGEOUS sunset and made the 3 hour flight back to KMDH at night .

They definitely have that new airplane smell!

The clouds looked like rolls of cotton--I was a little slow catching them ahead of us. Nice view to finish an IOE sequence, deadheading home.
