From what I remember, there are mechanicle "low pitch stops" installed so as to help with directional control of the aircraft during start-up when the aircraft is on floats.Question for you... On other airplanes with PT-6's the prop always feathers on shut down as the oil drains from the hub or if you put the props in feather manually before you shut down. Why is it that I see some Twin Otters with their props in fine pitch? Are there pitch locks or something? What is the purpose of keeping them in fine pitch?
