That picture of the easy part was taken after the assembly was removed. Removing said assembly is a good primer for a newbie but important enough that you have to do it yourself. Sometimes jets are difficult. Not to mention deciding to take an airplane apart based on troubleshooting and spending a lot of money to get a part that might fix it adds its own stress. It works. I was out on a sailboat race off the coast of San Diego near North Island Navy base. On the downwind leg of the race I had nothing to do so pulled out my camera to photograph all the boats behind us, when this C-17 came into the pattern. Unfortunately it was little hazy and backlit. When the plane flew behind the mainsail condensation formed over the wing top.

My God Lockheed built beautiful machines. I should be "Lockheedfan" but grandpa didn't have any. I did used to spend an inordinate amount of time sitting in a Lockheed Vega pretending to be Wiley Post when I was a kid. Vega's, Orion"s, Electra's, Lodestars, Connie's. I love them all.
