What's that white stuff?

Congrats! Be sure to CYA with all the administrator attention happening up there.
They were very honest about what has been happening the last 18 months or so at the company and the changes that have been made. Apparently Grant, Yute, and etc are also starting to feel the pressure next. I think it is a great company with a positive looking future. But what do I know I've only got less than a week on property, the koolaid hasn't even worn off.

Well ground school is over, just waiting for a little sim time and a check ride.

Ps. Please ignore the epilets, shirt and tie because we don't have uniforms and the picture is just so there is no confusion when we jumpseat
No uniforms or no monkey suit? If you become clean shaven, and you pull out your passport with a big beard (red in my case), you may get a few second glances trying to get through security.

I was in SFO for sunset last night. Unfortunately the sunset had most of the photos backlit. Just going through and editing them all. The images of landing were too far away to get anything good but the NetJets G200 next to me running it's GPU for way too long left some interesting vapors in some of the images.

Long as you don't somehow spin it in on a training flight, try to land VFR at an airport with no approach that is calling 1/2 SM, or launch VFR at night for a destination that is calling 300 OVC I think you'll be ok.

Here are some pictures of some interesting finds from the past few months:

Here are some of my images from my evening in SFO. I wish I had more energy to get a better location to shoot besides from the FBO ramp but I was 11 hours into the longest duty day of my life when I landed.

Great stuff! That area is great to shoot from until around 10AM with everything lit from that side. I love the shots of the heavies with the towers, I miss the view from the "Shadow Tower" beneath the current FAA tower. But I don't miss the paycheck.

Yep figured it would be a great sunrise shooting location. I was supposed to stay overnight but they decided to have me fly them home after their dinner. For future reference, where is the best place to shoot planes at sunset in SFO?

Well if you want to get planes against the setting sun, probably somewhere over there on that side of the airport, though the "best" places would be out on the AOA requiring escort, sunrise has better options, especially this time of the year. If you just want shots lit very well, most of the land-side spots have great lighting at sunset. Bay Front Park, Coyote Point, ect.
