Are you guys doing CRJ's too? The freighters are crazy cheap.

The President's pet project has gotten traction. Lots of Bombardier folks around the offices of late. FAA types using words like "STC". He's committed to it, and has stated emphatically that there are 3 runs that we could put 4 airplanes on.

"Can't happen fast enough." I think I heard him say.

They said the same thing 5 years ago.

I wasn't at AMF 5 years ago, so it really doesn't matter to me. Things change in 5 years and I don't have a dog in the fight. Just telling you what my eyeballs have seen. As crazy as it sounds, someone may have had a pet project for 5 years. That perseverance thing has been lost on our instant gratification society. ;)

It's going to happen, though. Someone is going to fly those dumped CRJ's for cargo. They're relatively cheap, there's a metric ton of them, and the Metro's aren't easy to be found. Plenty of Bro's around, but why buy those when you can buy a CRJ for roughly the same price?

It ain't the cost of acquisition that gets ya.

Though I don't know anything about the relative costs of operating a 120 vs a CRJ.

Three from March 1st. A buddy who is a well known badass photographer brought my friend and I up to the Adobe Towers one night in San Jose for some good shooting and great lessons on aperture. Then, of course, I had to head back up to SFO to work the graveyard.

What an office view, so clear you could see downtown San Francisco almost 50 miles away behind Levi Stadium where the 49ers play before the rich.

My office view isn't terrible either, I suppose. Aeromexico's daily SFO-MEX red-eye. I love these old silver colors, imagine if their 787s could have had them. But you know, plastic.

When you hear the words 121 operating certificate then perk your ears up.

If AMF got into the 121 sup business, it would be a great avenue to circumvent the regionals if a 121 major is your goal. However there are lots of players in the 121 sup world that have the market share. Not sure how much they could compete in that space.

Is the QOL really any better at AMF? I know it isn't (usually) at a supplemental. Combine the two I really have a hard time believing that is better than some regionals.

Oh the QOL wouldn't be better for sure. The QOL isn't better at AMF over the regionals right now. If they added 121 sup to the mix, that side of the house would be even worse.

I asked this question directly after the conversation that you and I had. It's going in as a (forgive the improper terminology here) a supplemental? like they did with the 120. Feds were ready to do it in Burbank. After the move was announced, Burbank backed out, and AMF had to get DFW FSDO on board. That's my understanding of it.

@Inverted, I thought you were getting out of the AMF hating business. When was the last time that you collected a paycheck from AMF? I'll continue the AMF QoL discussion in the AMF thread, if you wish. I can talk about it plenty.

I think what people forget is that QOL depends on the individual person and situation. I know former AMF people who lived in base and may never match that QOL. As someone who worked there and never lived in base it was tough. There's also a difference between moving to a base and truly wanting to live in that base as far as your happiness goes. I just think it's important to step back and realize that AMF QOL is great for some and not for others. Be careful with blanket statements like regional QOL is better, because it's simply not true for everyone.

Not hating at all. Did I say anything wrong?
