Interesting considering that a PC-12 with the 4 blade prop isn't exactly loud (relatively speaking), even at takeoff power.

The MT prop isn't that much quieter from my experience...

Or mine. The only thing the MT prop on a PC-12 is good for is scaring me • when I forget it's there and bring the PCL to idle too quick in the flare.

Yesterday Philippines retired their 747 from revenue service with PR105 from San Francisco to Manila. I was lucky enough to be working for it. I mostly took video, but I did manage these 2 shots.

"Philippine 104 Heavy" inbound over the San Mateo Bridge for the last time fittingly lit up in the very last seconds of golden light.

"Philippine 105 Heavy" starts her last taxi out to Manila. I told the pilots I would miss the 747, and they said "We'll miss her too. We'll miss her a lot".

Today, Cathay Pacific did their last long-haul 747 flight HKG-SFO-HKG but I missed it by sleeping for 12 hours. I really needed the sleep so I'm Ok with that. Air New Zealand retires their last 747 on September 10th from San Francisco to Auckland. Here's another 747 shot from this week, I'll really miss these things. I do already.
