Such a beautiful machine! Miss flying on them!
Seriously, how did that engine start its self, then power up?
Well, That's ONE way to avoid your FO.
NEW??? Maybe in the '60s! The Marines received their last CH-46 in 1971.While mapping in LCH two of these things flew in and stayed the night. When we came in for the day there were a bunch of military guys standing around one of them scratching their head wondering what to do. Well that night there was a nice storm that came through and lightning hit one of their BRAND NEW helos, going through it and blowing out a pot hole under it.
Apparently the lightning strike fried everything in it.
phone call..." Hey boss, remember that NEW helo you wanted us to ferry...Well....."

Must have been overhauled. They said it had 20 hours on it. Maybe the engine?NEW??? Maybe in the '60s! The Marines received their last CH-46 in 1971.
This just about sums up my vacation. A big thanks to @Polar742 and @Nick for helping me with the jumpseat process! I got to fly on a barely year old Boeing 747-8 and it was the most comfortable ride I've done to Hong Kong!

Just FYI.... I've flown that jet. Landed it, and it's still usable.
Glad you enjoyed the ride...
Nice! I should have left you a love note in one of the bunks.![]()
