daily pic

I guess while I have time and am in the mood - I ferried a Glastar GS-1 from Chicago to American Falls, ID the other day. Set a new personal record for most hours flown in a day at 12.2 to get it all the way there.

Built in 2004 with a 170hp Subaru engine. I tried to make this flight a month earlier but the high pressure fuel pump was pumping way too hard and blew the regulator out which = fuel running out of the cowl and me sputtering the 4 miles back to the field at 1000' and Vg... All good this time though!

Turning final at CPR which has become one of my favorite fuel or overnight stops now and the only Atlantic that I don't hate

Was happy to see it get this high with the 10,000' DA at Casper. Wouldn't have been possible without the thermals I hit I don't think

Single rainbow all the way.

Left just after sunrise, and landing here to deliver to an empty hangar just before sunset

Booking on Delta through Orbitz I somehow got a seat in first when I checked in even though I booked/payed for economy. Therefore the trip home didn't suck quite as much as normal.

Wow! I thought it would require much more altitude to recover. I remember doing a full stall in the sim just to see how well it does, and I remember losing 5000 fpm. But when it broke, it was a nice clean stall and went straight forward. Very surprised you were able to recover in 1500'.
Let me rephrase that...I went to the shaker, not a full stall.

This isn't something you see everyday. As I drove by West Houston Airport today, I saw this Baron on the side of the road. It's only a couple hundred feet from the departure end of Runway 15 at KIWS. I blocked out the tail number for privacy. I've been searching but no luck so far figuring out what actually happened.

Another reason why "Don't touch" is always in my preflight briefing with a young one...

EDIT: Looks like this happened to two Barons with similar paint and similiar stories...the link I provided is of another aircraft and not the one you gave.

You're doing it right Fencer...I'm so jealous.

Meanwhile I'm stuck with this

Broken Airplane by I Adler, on Flickr

There's our airplane, the one in the back with the maintenance truck...yea...we were supposed to leave 3 hours ago. Good news is 6 1/2 hours later it's back at the gate, but still broken. Simply the Best

Stupid marginal VFR and lousy forecasts turning my day of flying into sipping coffee staring into the abyss longingly... o_O
