EWR Meltdown...

Roads are miserable. Saw seven accidents on my thirty minute drive home. Waited 25 minutes for the cops/ambulance with one woman who smashed her car into a light pole.

Yowza, sneaked out of HPN this morning before it hit. Saw EWR has 6 hours of flow earlier, good luck to anyone dealing with that mess.

We never made it to HPN last night (broken parking brake) so we never had to try to escape it today, but at our scheduled departure it was 1/4 mile and +SN.

Of course now I am stuck at DCA because of a leaking windshield, but that's another issue.

Sounds like we're both cursed with maintenance 'fun' right now. I've had a slew of fun ones as of late.

Flew open-cockpit for the first time when I was home for computer based training on the ERJ last week. Obligatory stupid grin:

These CRJs are getting old.

My recent list:
Anti ice bleed air leak (ops check good...happened again)
Gear MELed down
Fuel quantity indicator
TRU
Flap skew detector (got to go outside and flash gang signs at the wing before each flight)

...and many more

also includes classics like

APU
Left air cond pack

Being a Captain is gonna be such a blast....
 
I was not ready too. Came to the field and found all Cessnas became taildraggers plus power outage. Only kids had a good time.
