ERJ145s and straight wing Cessnas don't count. Running over the center line lights constitutes severe turbulence in a Jungle Jet!

I'm always on the lookout for some strange.

I've always taken extreme turbulence reports with a grain of salt since, by definition, they shouldn't technically be able to make those reports.

The us military use to have 8 and 9 groups till 03. It is a useful tool to a forecaster but automated equipment can't encode it...so it went away for us.

As for extreme....about the only time we get see to extreme turb reports at zme is during thunderstorms. When the one genius tries to fly near\through\over a pretty thunderstorm. I always think what they expected when they decided to fly where they did...
