CVG approach to reduce jet noise

The easiest answer is if you don't like living near an airport-MOVE!

In this case, most of the affected areas have been there longer than the new North/South runway (under construction) and 36R/18L completed in the 1990s. This is especially true on the Ohio side of the Ohio River. FWIW, I think the airport board at CVG does a very responsible job of managing growth AND treating the surrounding neighborhoods with respect.

Ross, its so nice to see the town I grew up in make it into the news.

By the way, I grew up on a 15 mile final directly north of CVG and the noise is not even noticeable.

Where are they building the new north/south runway? When is it expectred to be completed? Lastly this means CVG will have 18L,18C,18R and the reverse on the opposite side?

[/ QUOTE ] If your looking directly south inbetween 18L and R, it is to the right of 18R and is about 3 quarters down runway 27, which is also getting expanded. The new 18R will be approximatly 8,000ft long, will be used mostly for landings and be completed in december 2005.
