Cut it out before we lose KCM

You also consent to your car and house being searched if you decide to leave the line.
Seriously? That seems like it needs challenged to line up better with the way searches normally happen. But who knows, I'm not a lawyer so I don't really understand how these things work.

trusted member of the security apparatus my ass...

And yet so many are clapping their hands all the way to the gate cuz' they can use KCM whilst in plain clothes. Sure would be pretty awesome to have a super secret line for folks that well, have been trusted with some of our nation's most trusted resources.

This would all be a moot point if the TSA would just freaking realize that the clothes we are wearing should have NOTHING to do with what we are allowed to carry. Either we have a valid company ID or we don't. In fact, we really should all be required to go through KCM since it actually verifies that we are still employed in good standing. I know people on leave who still had an ID and a uniform, but weren't in CASS. But hey, we can all still jump through the hoops, however idiotic they are.

ATL is pretty ridiculous. I have SIDA access in order to get into the parking lot. My badge is checked at the entrance to the lot. It is checked again as I board the bus. Then the bus & badges are "randomly" checked again as the bus enters the airport property. It drops you off INSIDE the SIDA on the ramp. I then have to go back outside of security to reenter through KCM to get back inside the SIDA where the bus just dropped us off in the first place. Pretty silly if you ask me.

And the rules in ATL just changed again this week.

Dunt dunt DAAAAAAA…

But not randomly, but because idiots with SIDA access, again, have have been caught doing absolutely ridiculous things.

Perhaps it's time for someone in a position of authority to speak about the real problem: airlines hire low class people because they're cheaper, and when you pay a low class person $30k, you shouldn't be surprised when they're caught smuggling drugs or guns through security checkpoints. No matter how many stupid security protocols are put in place, if you're hiring rampers who were operating the fry machine last week, you're not fixing the problem.

I don't think anyone's making 30k on min wage.

For as often as I disagree with you, I also find myself liking your posts a lot.

Can't say I disagree.

Because I don't.

This really gets back to the thread regarding the FAA inspector who used his SIDA to circumvent security. Why, oh please, why do the authority agent that grants such privilege not absolutely drop the hammer on those who violate the rules to an extent that will absolutely ruin their careers and make them unable to secure another "security" sensitive privilege.

Throw the book at a few of these guys and show that the punishment is severe enough and guess what - fewer, and fewer, folks will do boneheaded things that make the rest of us look like criminals.

Instead we will continue to see this ridiculous umbrella policy that punishes the good ones because of the poisoned few. 'mercer.

Additional point - its not just rampers. Sadly supposed responsible gun owners, and likely NRA members, somehow "forget" that they have a gun in their luggage - pilots and flight attendants.

Oh no.... I hadn't heard that yet. What is the latest knee-jerk reaction?

You go back into KCM? Once your in, nobody really knows.

Except that they do. We had guys get tagged at my old shop for using their SIDA access to non-rev or deadhead.
What if I was scheduled to operate a flight, then they canceled last second and I non-revved home? I think in TSA physics everything in my roll a board turns into explosives, and I get suicidal terrorist thoughts. Damn scheduling! Turning me into a terrorist! That shirt is 100% cotton... GUN COTTON!
