...are nice!

That's all I had to say. :)

This is going to ROCK during the commute.

I went in the CRC in the A concourse in CVG back during one of my training sessions. It was quite swank if I do say so myself.

They are pretty dope. When Southernjets interviewed me it was in one of the Crowne Room conference rooms. The two interviewers were at one end of this long table and me at the other. How times have changed. Now they interview potential new peeps in the baggage service office. BTW I heard that nonrevs can buy a day pass for the C.R. when trvling. Havent had time to check it out so I don't know how true it is.

But everyone wants to know....is there sex in the Crowne Room?

Oh, wait...wrong company.

prob for new platinum owners only.. you know how that goes...

actually, as a non-rev (employee), you can get a full membership to the crowne room right now. expires soon and it's pretty darn expensive but i figured it was worth checking out.

Nope, its just one of the perks for platinum. I have also used it to get into UAL Red Carpet also.

[Borat]Very nice![/Borat]

I carry the Platinum Amex and it's worth every penny...even beyond the airport lounge access. If you are travelling a lot and put everything on your debit card like I once did, reconsider. Cash is cash and you might as well get something for it. Rental car insurance, travel insurance, travel conciere, road side assistance, hotel room upgrades, etc. etc etc.

This is going to ROCK during the commute.

ROCK STAR? What? You're going to party like a Rock Star and trash your room?

Sorry, I'm just tired from my 0425 show and I think the people in the room next to me were wannabe rock stars.

It's Crown room, not Crowne room.

The Alaska lounges have free beer. The NWA World clubs in NRT and MSP have free beer. The Admirals club at O' hare does not have free beer, nor does the Admirals club at LAX, though it's in a great location. I don't do DAL first class that much, though I'll be going through ATL on May 15th. I'd be happy to give a PIREP on the DAL Crown room but, as a world class freight dawg, I'm kinda picky...

get something for it... at what 24% APR? ;)

True but it's a charge card designed to be paid off every month not a credit card. I'm guessing you knew that but some here might not. If you carry a balance on the thing month to month you WILL get burned. So when I said cash is cash I meant that paying it off every month for me is no different than putting everything on my debit card like I once did. In fact I generally go on the Amex website at the end of the week and pay it off weekly thus ensuring I'm keeping my spending in check. At least this way I get points for the money I spend that can be used for something where as the debit card gave me nothing.

I have another pilot friend who swears by the cards that give you cash back with no annual fee. Of course he and his wife don't travel as much as we do. If you travel, the Platinum card is hard to beat. Not to mention long airport sits and standby are great in the lounge. You have to lose any evidence of being an employee though.

I do the cash back thing and use the interline/airline employee discounts for travel. My wife and I like to people watch so we sit with the masses in the terminal. I'm with you 100% about paying off the card every month. If you start paying interest the whole cash back stuff goes right out the window.
