Crop-dusting drugs in Columbia

I lived there for a few years. Awesome country, great people but the FARC was strong. At the time any American caught by them was considered to be from the CIA, and would be shot. I was once detained by what I thought were FARC members. Ends up they were "wannabes." It's better now then it was when I was there but still the jungles are dangerous.

Happened to me too. I was a Mormon missionary, living on the Venezuelan-Colombian border. FARC all over the place, boarded a bus once. Good news was, everybody just kind of left us alone, regardless of their religion. Knew that we didn't really have anything of value, figured we did a good work, took us as harmless.

Back then, we were already kind of on the fringe; the State Department didn't want us within 50 miles of the border, let alone living alongside the river separating the two countries. Since then they've pulled out the gringo missionaries altogether, deciding it was too dangerous. Me, I loved it.

Sorry, was this about planes and stuff? My bad.

The risk has its reward. You're outgunned and at high risk. But, for some if the $$$ are good enough...

Bogota is the most dangerous tour I've been on. Our Command has lost more pilots than in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

They find a gorgeous 23 yr. old latino girl, come home ... retire ... divorce ... move back to Columbia and work for the Gov't or Contractor ...
