CRJ-900 V-Speeds

Hey guys, I have an interview with ASA in about 20 days and I know they fly the 700 sim but we have a 900 sim on the PCATD at my job, anyone know the V-speeds so I don't fly like an idiot when practicing with it?

Haven't flown the 900 myself (don't plan to, but that is for another post :) ) but I assume the 700 is somewhat close on the speeds. Are you talking Vref for approach speeds or just in general?

Approach speeds on the 700 are anywhere from 125 - 140 knots if memory serves, which is slower than the 200 because of the slats. Sorry don't have the flip cards available or otherwise I could give you precise numbers :)

Oh and good luck on the interview!

You're a dork! 125-140 is *exactly* correct (I know this because I'm sitting in one waiting on flow to ORD, not because I memorize speed cards :) ).

Flap speeds for the 700 and 900 are 215 (flaps 1,8, and 20), 185 (30), and 170 (45). You can drop the gear below 220.

Takeoff speeds vary a LOT. Good luck!

Oh no!! You got me! :panic:

:) :)

(wow I actually knew something)

Have fun with the flow, I gots myself some west coast flying the next few days :) I heard the Madison airport is shut down the next two days! Where are you?

Those are company speeds by the way. Aircraft speeds are 230 for 1, 8 and 20. Gear is anywhere below 250.

V1/2/R are all going to be flap/weight/runway dependent.

Good point--215 is a SKW thing, but I'm pretty sure 220 is actually placarded for Vlo (ext).

Bike-I was in Memphis. ORD was cruddy all day. I wish I had more west coast stuff.

220 in the 700, 250 in the 200.

I wouldn't really worry about the v-speeds for your interview. And don't they do the eval in a 200 sim?

The recruiter told me the 700 sim. I just want to know them so I can practice holding the speeds on a PCATD. I've flown it twice and it is a whole different animal since the PCATD is so sensitive. I think my chances went up quite a bit by just messing with it because if that would have been my first time at the interview I would have failed miserably! :D

Heh. Enjoy the holding pad for the center runway, did ya? Wonder how many Flagships kept parking next to you waiting on numbers. It's been chaotic lately in MEM on Sundays. I think they don't even have the B or C crew working. It's more like the K or L crew.

I did the 700 sim, but my training partner actually did the ATR sim. Go figure :laff:

They will use whatever sim is open at the time. Sometimes it's the 700, other times it's the 200. I wouldn't worry too much about the speeds, they will tell you exactly what speeds to fly.
