CRJ-200 cockpit poster

I don't think that is the way eBay works bro.

Excellent sarcastic use of bro...hopefully?

And yeah I am looking to get a head start. I am going from Seminole to Crj so I need all the help I can. I will be given limitation and emergency procedures to memorize before class. The CP I interviewed with suggested to learn flow also. I am not going to use any other information other then what PSA provides.

How did the CP expect you to learn flows if all they are giving you is limitations and EP's? If you want to just familiarize yourself with switch and pushbutton locations, I don't see a problem with studying a cockpit poster, but I wouldn't spend much money on it. The CRJ has a silly simple cockpit, too--especially the 700/900.

The biggest problem in going from a Seminole to a CRJ is dealing with the speed of the airplane and figuring out where and when to slow/descend/configure. Other than that, I wouldn't worry about it--it's a pretty simple airplane.

Shh....that will be our little secret

The CP isn't expecting me to learn flows before training only limitations and emergency procedures. He suggested I reviewed the flow before training if I want to, which I do. I have over 6 figures wrapped up in my flying and degree so what is the cost of a poster compared to that.

I appreciate those that are helping and being supportive. I pick PSA for my own reasons. I don't have to explain, defend, rationalize, describe, clarify, educate, enlighten, or illuminate crap to the others.

However, if I make it to captain, you will always be welcome to jump-seat with me.

Here's a "field expedient" paper tiger for you. It's a CRJ 200 panel, it's about $25 in parts from Lowes or Home Depot.

I didn't attach the panels as the files are a bit large. Take a look at the instructions and if you want the panels, I can e-mail them to you.

No need to rationalize going to PSA to me--if I go back to flying, it may well be on my list. And I interviewed with Mesa in 2005, which is about as low as you can go.

If PSA actually gave you their flows--which aren't necessarily in the same order as checklists--it certainly wouldn't hurt to familiarize yourself with them using a poster. If you've still got money left over after a 6 figure flying degree, go for the poster for sure!

I would really appreciate an opportunity to get a copy of those cockpit posters. I too am prepping for the transition to the regionals. seizeking@gmail.com

It adds to it. That's the point. Don't get to wrapped around the axel over this. If they want you to know limitations and EP's (which I'm assuming in RJ talk is the IAC),then do that. Believe me, you will have enough to worry about. You also have to worry about indoc before systems, and CPT and sim. The guys that worried about things other than what the company wanted them to know/learn, generally didn't do well. Just do what they ask you, and let them do the rest. If you want a poster, get a poster. Unless you have a real hard time learning things, you will most likely say "why did I do that?" when you're done with trainIng.

Welcome aboard! Don't spend too much time on Captain's flows if you have them. And if they are stressing them in Dayton please shoot me a PM. When do you start class?

Wonder what ever happened to the op. It's funny how I have the picture in my head of what he looks like. I can almost hear the sound of his voice through his posts.
I must have forum super powers or something.

Well, it's been four years since he first posted so you sure have something alright

Why not? It makes for a nice head start and a far less stressful initial training event. I got A320 posters and the A320 QSG by Avsoft. Both helped tremendously and I showed up well prepared and ahead of the game. The rest of the training went easy, IMO. It's only drinking from the fire hose when you show up with no clue about the airplane you're going to be learning on. Or, you could come to the fire station a day before and get your hands a little wet/dirty so when the fire hose is presented, you're not drinking from it. You're drinking from water fountain in the fire station break room. ;)

Whatever floats each individuals' boats, but IMO there is nothing wrong with getting a slight head start on things to make a short-training span a little less stressful and more fun. Now a word of caution though, I wouldn't memorize limitations or memory items that are in any study guide you get. Always use your own airline's limitations and memory items. You can ask around. When I showed up to day one of ground school, I had the limitations and memory items memorized cold. Again, less stress. :)

I guess it wouldn't hurt. When I went through training there, we had access to the paper tigers 24/7. Ofcourse, that's back when we stayed at the Dayton Airport Hotel (shudder) which was attached to the training center.
Man oh man. Why did you have to go and mention that hotel? And of course the lovely restaurant that was there. Food poisoning anyone?

Perhaps. This is several years old now, but I don't regret what I did. It was at that time they had changed their mins from 5,000 total and 1,000 TPIC to just 4,000 total and I got in at ~ 4,150TT and 0 TPIC. Being one of the first guinea pigs for the airline under the new qualifications, I tried to do the best I could to get a leg up in the training process. I was the youngest and the lowest time pilot in my class, so I felt that the best way to make up for it was to come as prepared as possible.
