Crew Store??

So, I was riding on an Air Whiskey flight today, and the rampers in PHL managed to break the J-hook on my Purdy Neat bag. I'm gonna need a new one before Sunday afternoon when I start a trip, and I've got some things to do tomorrow. Does anybody know of any Crew Stores in PHL, IAD, or BWI? How about the one in ATL - is it open on Saturday? I don't think if I order one now, it'll be shipped to me before Saturday (even with super-fast freight dawg service).

Help a brotha out!!

All of them carry PNT items, all open Saturdays. I'd give them a call to see if they have the part in stock.

My J-Hook was missing after I checked in my bag a while back too, also missing a zipper handle
If you ever get near a "Stopover Store" then you can get a JHook from them (they usually keep them in stock), and they will even lend you a bag if you want to drop it off for service. They charged my $12 to ship my bag to Luggage Works and gave me a loaner in the meantime for free. After almost 6 years... my bag is like new again! :)

There's a stopover store in IAH, MSP, and DTW.

I'm thinking that Crew Outfitters will have a similar policy, but I'm not certain.

Yep, Crew Outfitters does the exact same thing. I've gone into CVG to buy a J-hook from them, and I got a loaner flight case from them when my handle broke. It was pretty darn convenient!

Phixed it! :) Unless, of course, they opened a new store.

Go hit up the baggage claim offices for the airlines...they usally have a box full of hooks n' stuff.....you should be able to find one without too much trouble...

When I flew the saab we had to put our bags back in cargo as there is no closet. We would park our bags next to the belt loader and the rampers would load them for us. At the overnight I got my bag and the j hook had been ripped off. The outstation ramper told me some of those guys will pull it off because it "gets in their way when loading the bags".

I was speechless.

Which airline is that?! Sounds like there needs to be a little strategic firing! ;)

Only if they load the bag with the J-hook facing down, and it gets caught in the beltloader......

So speaking of a crew store....They changed our uniform and gave me one shirt and I'm supposed to buy them from Crew Outfitters, but does anyone have a recommendation for a good cheap place to get shirts? I guess the ones I've been wearing are no longer approved.

Not sure if you're familiar with the Luggage Works PNT Stealth bag, but if you can manage to break the J-Hook off of this bag, there's no need even trying to make it work . . . lol. I'm talking snapped weldpoint!

No worries . . . I'm on my way to 'Lanna now. Just an excuse to have lunch at Paschal's!! :rawk:

No kidding. Whenever I heard of that J-hook breaking, I have to think was the ramp TRYING to break it? Only way I can think of it accidentally happening is getting caught in a beltloader. Even then, it may do more damage to the beltloader. :)
