"CREW" on badges

Does your airline have "Crew" written on their dispatcher badges?

Jumpseating, I haven't been treated any less than any other crewmember. Not sure having "Crew" on a badge matters much especially if one has TSA Pre Check (seriously, if you don't have it, totally get it - best 85 bucks ever).

I’ve considered getting pre check but lately I’ve seen so many checkpoints that do not have the pre check line open.

I know that F9 and EM both have crew on the badge. I have seen that B6 dispatchers are also part of KCM as well as having a crew badge

Known Crew Member?... why would they have that? You have to be in pilot or flight attendant uniform to go through there, at least that’s the case at every big airport that I know. Pilots that are not in uniform can not go through there even if they have the badge

KCM privileges are not dependent on being in uniform.

ExpressJet badges don’t have anything on them, just a big blank space where ‘CREW’ or ‘RAMP’ would normally sit for pilots/fas or mechanics, respectively.

At 9E/MSP it got you through TSA without having a boarding pass. Just walk up and tell them you're "working" and you can go through. Not sure if it still does.

Can anybody else confirm about B6 being part of KCM? I was in the program as a pilot years ago, and have been curious about getting dispatchers into it for a while now.

It's apart of the media policy your carrier has submitted and has been approved for by the TSA. While it does make life easier for dispatchers to jumpseat, for the number of people it helps vs the work the carrier to make a change like that is the reason why we've seen carriers have been removing crew from dispatchers badges.

To be honest, if you don't have KCM, having crew on your badge is not much of a benefit to us.

Sometimes if they don’t have the dedicated line open they will give you a Pre Check sticker in the regular line and you’ll go through as Pre Check.

Global Entry lets you use the kiosks when you come through customs. You can skip the long line of people waiting to tally to a customs person.

Ah ok. I haven't traveled internationally much. That would make sense though for someone who does.

Definitely don't, we tried to find out if we could and weren't able to.

B6 pilots are in CASS. To find out if the dispatchers are, you need to look in whatever manual B6 lists allowed employee groups. Most likely the FOM/GOM.

I understood the question as whether B6 Dispatchers were in KCM, which is why I responded we are not. KCM is only offered to pilots and flight attendants.

My bad. I overlooked that you said KCM, and I was thinking CASS. Yep. Two different things. You are correct, KCM is only for flight crew members.
