Crew ID Discounts

Thought this might be an interesting thread...

We all know the places where the crew ID gets us discounts (hotel bars, airport restaurants, etc...) but I'm looking to learn some more specific places that maybe not all of us know about. City transit systems that give discounts? Museums or theaters that maybe give discounts? Anything and everything.

For those that get the discount it is not just for two-day air delivery, it is for everything.
Negative ghostrider...

It's only for Fedex AIR services... not for ground. I found that out two years ago when I thought it would be uber cheap to send my Christmas gifts via Fedex Ground... turned out 2 day air was cheaper since we don't get a discount on the ground services.

Makes sense anyway... after all... we are pilots (air) and not truck drivers (ground). ;)

That's what I thought but when I went to my local FedEx Kinko's a few months ago and shipped something they gave me the discount for ground. That was apparently in error. I guess I lucked out!

I'd take it if ya can get it! ;)

Actually Nick, after re-reading the discount info on Fedex in preperation for this post... it does not specify air/ground. It simply says 75% off of personal shipments of 150lbs or less. So... it looks like I may have received the raw deal. ;)

I am not a airline pilot, but I would think certain gym's? like Golds?
We don't get Gold's at my company... but we get do get some decent choices on gyms.

Banking and Financial services: Bank of America, Wachovia, Traveler's Insurance, Chase

Automotive Discounts: Ford, GM, Toyota

Apparel and Retail: Barnes & Noble, Ice.com, Michael Kors, diamond.com, VF imagewear, Escents Aromatherapy

There's a few others that are airport or home base specific... but I'm thinking just about every airline will have a similar negotiated discounts.

contact the provider with the discount info
:yeahthat:

Your company will have program numbers, coupon/discount codes, or special employee phone lines to call. Just follow your company's procedures that were set up in order to acquire the discounts.

Farmers insurance gives a 10% discount to aviation professionals. So if thats your insurance company ask them about it. If you have any questions, let me know and I will find out for you.
