Crash Investigators Pan Their Casting as Villains in ‘Sully’

I thought it was pretty good. My stress levels were elevated a few times. I'm going to start googling every person I fly with now so that I can be as awkward as possible during the first leg.

Accident was on the last leg of a 4 day trip.

Their trip was:

Day 1 CLT-SFO
Day 2 SFO-PIT
Day 3 PIT-LGA-PIT
Day 4 PIT-CLT-LGA-CLT

Based on their conversation, it's reasonable to think that Sully mentioned to Skiles at some point on the Day 1, 2, or 3 about his new personal safety consulting group he was starting, and how he was working on a website, etc. Conversation seemed appropriate enough if Skiles had googled him. IMO wouldn't be considered stalking.

Another thing is that Sully did tell investigators that he bought a sandwich in LGA. But LGA was a turn, it's highly doubtful he would have taken any bags off the plane with him (eg, layover bag, flight kit bag) as the movie tries to imply. He just bought the sandwich and went back to the plane. He didn't start off in LGA.

Not sure where you guys were watching the movie. I went to Studio Movie Grill, and it was nearly a packed house. I'd say about 70-75% full.
Packed AMC in suburban NJ, I was surprised how empty the theater was, but then again I did see it in IMAX which most I'm sure don't care to pay extra for.

Never heard of this Studio Movie Grill but did a quick search and sounds a lot better than most movie theaters I've been to (Regal, AMC, Harkins, etc)!

The food is good. Seats are comfy, but it is a little pricey. Tends to keep the riffraff out though.

Oh yes, the "$1" theater crowd.

If you're going to play with your cellphone all movie long, why in the world are you at the theater? Air conditioning? :)

In all honesty there were summers in a couple countries I've lived in where air conditioning wasn't a normal thing where we did go to the movies for AC.

Seriously why the hell else would somebody pay to watch Hitman.

I know Bob and several of the other NTSB staff that worked this accident and they are all a class act.

Every story needs a villain, and unfortunately, that is where the NTSB was assigned. If anyone reads the reports, you will see that they were actually very supportive of Sully, unlike in the movie. Focusing on the birds instead would have only worked if it was a cartoon, preferably made by Disney. ;)

Chris Rock would play the goose that escaped death and had to get the children of a couple dead ones back home to the airport.

Went and saw the movie the other night. I thought it was really good. The criticisms that seem to be coming about seem to be pretty minute for how much the film covered. Obviously the NTSB was made to be the bad guy, and that was probably the most glaring inaccuracy. However, I thought it was a really good movie overall. I'd recommend it.

The movie HAD to have a villain, it was either the cause of the accident (the geese) or the agency that had to determine the cause of the accident (the NTSB)!

So, as a writer, you could blame the geese and have every animal lover, the ASPCA, the Humane Society, etc. questioning your motives. OR you can go up against an agency within a government that everyone seems to hate anyway.

Easy decision in my book!!!

P.S. I am surprised that some animal-loving agency hasn't tried to sue the airline or the crew for "malicious treatment" of the birds!! ;)

There was a lot of traveling in that movie. Most on foot.

Alright, I will give that one to you. But, I think it was reluctant traveling. Whereas, every other movie seemed to be filled with excitement. Maybe not the airport one...

Saw it up here in MSP today. $5 matinee can't complain. Cinema was mostly full of senior citizens. I thought it was very well done and pretty technically accurate as far as movies go. There were also several people around me who were clapping at the end.

Saw it the other day. Got the last seat in the theater (surprisingly a good seat).
Overall thought the movie was good, but y'all need to remove "attention to the detail" from your resume since noone mentioned the fancy split tips on the Continental 737 :sarcasm:

That was supposed to be edited out from what I had previously read.
