CPZ pilots and "DPI"

Delta Preferential Interview, or something like that.

Some have been running around limbs akimbo, but there is no program.

There is no such thing.

It is a figment of your leaderships imagination.

So we've been told.
Is this th twilight zone? Has it been brought to the the management's attention through the proper channeling? If not I can help with that. You got the digits.

It's being taken care of, I hear.

Certain pilots that did the "testing" in the past, if competitive, will eventually get an interview but there is no "preferential" or "preferred" involved. It's not a new program, just a relic from the 2010 timeframe I assume being dusted off and professed as "new" to help with staffing and retention.

I guess.

It's something that was promised to us that they've had no real answer on for years and now they're pretending like they're making good and getting it honored. Sigh.

Who is "we?" like just a general announcement to the pilot group?

This really pisses me off...even though I don't qualify for the dpi. I get that management will lie, but the lies they've made AND BEEN CAUGHT IN are ridiculous. It also really bothers me that they are lying in a way that also draws our mainline partner into it with us. That can't be good business.

There is nothing public out to our pilot group, no.

But “we” as in my colleague that happens to dabble in recruitment.

Standby for a clarification of the email put out today from CPZ that wasn’t quite accurate... again.

Can't say Trans States Holdings has exactly ever been the epitome of management.

Bring on the guillotine!

Considering how important communication is in this job, you'd think TSH would have a basic idea of how to accomplish it properly.

You do know that when you do a go around, it gets send to all pilot recruitment teams along with your sick leave report.

I'M KIDDING!

Oh god, that reminds me:

  • NO!!!! NO ONE IS SHARING JOB FAIR ATTENDEE LISTS! Your career advancement is your own business and your present airline DOES NOT "OWN" YOU.
  • NO!!!! NO ONE GIVES A CRAP ABOUT YOUR SICK LEAVE USE AT YOUR PRESENT CARRIER NOR DOES ANYONE ASK FOR THE DATA!
The weirdness at some levels of this business to help recruitment and plug the leaky retention boat is befuddling.

So the go around thing supposedly came from the 170s that went to Republic and they asked how many cycles there were (max thrust use adds a cycle, go around adds a cycle) or something and Compass wasn't tracking any of that, and I think our POI got involved. While they got the go around tracking form in place, they asked that they be a maintenance writeup so they could track it until we got new tracking in place, which is our current system of a nondescript "go around tracking form" where you check a box that a go around was performed anonymously and it can all be happily tracked now but still with a no fault, basically no report go around policy. I can live with how it went down, nobody was questioned on the go around write ups, and we perform go arounds at such a low rate there were very few writeups...

That said, if you'd compromise safety and avoid doing a go around just to avoid some paperwork, what are you doing in this business, honestly. And last time I checked, I've been paid for every go around I've ever done and never received a phone call, so...
