Covid shots now required at UA

... Finally, don't feed me the line that the vaccinated are immune, they can and will get SARS-COV-2. It is a wing and a prayer that it will keep someone vaccinated but with other underlying health conditions from ending up in the hospital.
Nobody is saying those with the vaccine are immune (if they are they are uninformed or lying), and the data supports the vaccines being safe and effective at what it was intended to do: prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and/or death from COVID19. Within the current surge those who experience hospitalization or death from COVID has been something like 99% unvaccinated individuals.

UA requiring employees to vaccinate is a PR move to keep people on their airplanes this fall and winter. It's unfortunate for those who don't want to get the vaccine, I believe everybody should have a choice in the matter, however the vaccines are safe and United has every right to do this - it is not unprecedented. It is what it is.

So you want people from low risk groups to be fired for not taking a vaccine when in most cases they would have had no symptoms or minor symptoms regardless of vaccine and it does nothing to stop them from spreading it to others? Union workers are supposed to be united with their union brothers, not actively cheering management on firing union workers. Covid has fried too many brains.

Yup!

Next question.

You have a choice. There’s always a choice.

Get the vaccine.

OR

Find another employer that doesn’t require the vaccine.
There are many of us on here that know how hard it is to get a dispatch job at a major. I have a choice and made my choice. But I think it should be on the individual and forced by a company or government.

You indeed have a choice. It's not "you have to get the vaccine or you go to jail" but actually "you have to get it or you can't participate in certain aspects of society." Literally all 50 states require kids to get immunizations for them to attend public schools. If the vaccine gets FDA approved, I see no reason not to take it.

Yes Master, I will do what you say. I will be a puppet like our "leader" Joe Biden
I'm confused why you think freedom means you can dictate the terms of your employment to your employer and they have no say in it. That's not how it works. As others have pointed out, you have a choice. Just because you don't like the options doesn't mean anyone is taking away your freedom.

Those weren't the terms of employment when they were hired. I can see it being a requirement if you want to get hired.

Marxism has infected corporate America, and Americans are celebrating it.

I’m going to ask to see the math on this one. If you mean Karl Marx, which passage did he write that specifically pertains to vaccinations. And if so, if there was a passage about not walking barefoot across a lava floe, are good Americans to eschew that as well?
