corporate careers

What are somes ways to get into corporate aviation as a pilot? Do most pilots start out at an FBO and work their way up the ladder or do they come from airlines in regionals. I would much rather start my career as a corporate pilot because of job security and pay. The regionals seems like a horrible place to work unless you have seniority. Also, has anybody done the right seat program at CAE Simuflite or Flightsafety? Can also log that time because the training is done in a level D simulator? Any advice would be great

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but you've asked these same questions a million times already and they've been answered.

-Networking is one of the best ways to get into corporate aviation.
-Working at an FBO can be a good way of networking
-Corporate pilots don't always have good job security either - companies get taken over, have cutbacks, or maybe a little Enron syndrome
-At least 2 of us on this board are doing or have done the right seat program at SimuFlite. Some people say you can log it, others say no. You can use a certain amount of sim time towards your ATP. Some others that I know who went though the program would use the time on their "corporate" resumes and wouldn't use it on their "airline" resumes. If you log it, be prepared to tell an interviewer that you did. I did and never had any problems.

I ended up just buying a separate little log book and kept track of all my sim time in that. I'm not sure why, as I could have just as easily just used the sim column in my regular lookbook, but oh well. As far as the resumes go...on the corporate resume I would put it in TT, ME, Turbine, Inst., & Night. On the airline resume I only put it in as sim time. As far as I'm concerned, this is a pretty gray area in the rules. All the instructors at SF said log everything and apparently so did the FAA, so that's why I would put it in the corporate resume. Airlines didn't like to see it included, so I left it out.

If you think that's rough, it's a good thing I didn't post anything last night! NYE ended up kinda sucking since all of my plans got cancelled (twice!) Oh well, I plan on making up for it throughout the year and definately next NYE! How was yours?

I ended hanging out in a club where the only way I could dance was if I moved in the same direction everybody else was moving. It was packed like a sardines in a can. It was an alright night, but definetely not hall of fame.
