Guys,

My boss is going to be looking for a new pilot as I am taking recall back to the regional grind. The plane is based out of KBQR, which is 5 miles east of KBUF. You will primarily be flying him back and forth to Ithaca, with trips to Watertown, Elmira and where ever else he can come up with here and there.

It was a salaried position for me and a decent one at that. He is looking for someone with at least 700TT, preferably 1000TT and a CFI. Type of experience will be considered, glass cockpit experience preferred as the plane is a 2006 T206H w/ G1000 (awesome plane).

I don't wanna give pay specifics as it will likely vary with experience, just know I will be taking a pretty significant pay cut going back to the airlines (although that doesn't really say much). Being that he owns car dealerships and is a salesman, you get what you negotiate. Overall this has been a great job and he is a great guy, I was just forced to either accept recall or give up my number.

Sounds interesting thanks for the post. What were your hours like? Did you have any other duties other than flying? How large is his company?
 
Any idea if he would be willing to go for someone slightly below 700hrs? I have just over 650.

It's tempting...Danielle and I have already talked about living apart for some time. I'd think about applying, but I would like to hear a little more first....besides, it's Buffalo.
 
It's very tempting.

Are flights scheduled decently far in advance? That's about a 2.5 hour "commute" for me, but if it's a short duty day and/or enough time to catch a nap in the FBO.....

Just to keep everyone posted.

As you can imagine, I have received quite a few inquiries. Going to be meeting with a couple guys this week that are from the area. If none of those pan out we will begin looking elsewhere.

For whatever it's worth, I sent a resume because I'm a ~1.5 hour drive away and all I got back was an email telling me that he keeps the plane 1.5 hours from where I live. Gee... always wondered where Buffalo was. Since there was no punctuation or any other details, I don't what he was trying to tell me.

i guess that was his way of saying he wants somebody that lives a little closer to the airport. sorry it doesn't sound like it's gonna work out.
