Corpie at Torrance

Absolutely it’s doable. Agreed. Used to beat up the traffic pattern doing touch and goes in a C550, with a departure end turning climb to inside downwind, configure, then come off the abeam, base to final for another T&G. Rinse, repeat. The thing flies akin to a T-37 that has a passenger cabin. A 172 with jet engines, as you accurately describe it. If this guy can’t handle that, then he shouldn’t be in it.

737 is also easily capable of a traffic pattern. Had a go around one time in the -200. Tower wants to hand me off to departure for vectors back, i just ask the other pilot to request departure end closed for a full stop. Nothing requiring any hard maneuvering, just an easy turning climb to the downwind at flaps 5. Configure the rest on downwind, and finish the pattern to a landing. Almost takes no thought.

This guy definitely has many issues, to put it lightly.

100%

You can basically fly an A350 like a A319 so I’m confused as to how what is effectively a twin-jet Caravan with those straight wings has a problem shooting a visual.

I mean, if the visual is too tough, ask for a full instrument approach or… egads… go elsewhere.

What major accident has EWR had recently? If you mean the plane hitting a light pole, I don’t think it’s procedure to fly the approach with 4 red on the papi.

Like when some dude told me he was ‘ducking under’.

“The F you are!”

“For some reason I thought I just heard you say you’re in favor of normalization of deviance by abandoning a stable approach and choosing an unstable approach.”

Mike, that was my favorite request in the military and my RV-8 after doing a low approach at a towered field, think KRYN locally. Results are spectacular when view from the ground.

“Maintain 250.” “Unable, below the bravo.” “I AUTHORIZE YOU!” (the thing the reg says controllers can’t do). Sorry, you just gave me the nervous twitches. I greatly love how bad the flow into TEB is these days because it makes SWF seem so much better for the pax.

Next thing you know, you've been autoreported to the FAA for going over 250 below the class Bravo. "The controller told me to ignore that reg" will not go over well.

Now there are pilots that say "They want you to go 250 here" now that it's becoming normalized.
