Cool GA airports to visit

Hey guys, im doing some multi time building this weekend in the Central USA. Was wondering if someone knew of some neat airports to go see while were flying around. Departing out of Tulsa so something within a couple of states to Oklahoma.

Fly on in to KSGR, Sugar Land, TX and catch a movie. The FBO has a theater. It at least makes the marginal weather days passable for us survey guys.

4R9-Dauphin Island, Alabama. Runway is out in the ocean. Pretty sweet place.

mena arkansas....weird place
Kind of a cool airport, actually sort of has terrain around it.

KLFK Lu, TX is a good 100 dollar hamburger (well, probably more like a 300 dollar burger from OK). Magnolia, AR is fun just to see the gazillion FEMA trailers (I think that's where they were anyway).

Obligatory BBQ at either SEP or AQO. AUS is fun on an overnight but there's nothing out near the airport.

Also KARG (Walnut Ridge, AR) has a bunch of airliners just sitting waiting to be parted out.

If your plane can make it into and out of a 2400' runway, SN07, Beaumont, KS. You can land, taxi down main street, and shut down outside the hotel/restaurant.

Walnut Ridge shortly after the end of WWII.

Head up to Beaumont Hotel in central KS. You land on a very well kept grass strip, taxi across Main Street through town, and park in the hotel's parking lot. Their diner serves outstanding homemade American fare. Let us know where you end up going.

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had is on the field at K81. Not too far from T-town either.

Been there! Saying that, I would never take a twin in there, pretty rough 'runway', might be a bit to handle.

My vote goes to Leadville, just so you can say you did it... doubt the owners of the twin would be cool with that though!

You could fly into KGNT in Grants, NM (55 nm or so west of ABQ along I-40). Not much at the airport, but the manager, Wes is a super cool guy and they do offer courtesy cars (older model BMW's
) if you wanted to grab some lunch in town.

Sikeston, MO (SIK) has Lambert's Cafe right next door for a cool unique experience. Blythsville, AR (BYH) is a cool 11,000' long runway that is not towered and used as an MD80 boneyard, ex-AFB too I am pretty sure.
