As I recall, everything was pneumatic on it. You’d see the FO out on cold days furiously pumping up the bottle in the wheel well.

Yeah one of its quirks, it hisses like an 18-wheeler in the cockpit. It was also certified for “severe icing” the boots inflated both horizontally and vertically. I’d have to ask my Dad for more info about it. But it has been over thirty years since he last flew it.

I know he says of all the airliner turboprops he flew (Metro, B99 SD3) that it was his favorite.
