Controlling Virgin Galactic flights?

Off the wall question I was thinking about. When Virgin Galactic starts running flights, how will atc work with this? Since I assume reentry is non powered, will they have to clear a vertical block of airspace for the descent of the spacecraft? Will the pilots have to get a separate clearence to re-enter controlled airspace from up above? Just curious if anyone knows how this works.

Under the current "Rules" what happens is the aircraft calls to request an IFR clearance prior to descending below FL600

Probably a permanent TFR around the mojave spaceport? It's not like there isn't already a whole lot of restricted airspace around there. Might cause some havoc for those alone and unafraid King Air pilots on the Inyokern transition route, but I think they are already used to dodging high performance aircraft on a daily basis anyway. God knows I almost rolled in on top of one a couple of times......

:) Total quote fail on my part; repaired.

I was just wondering if that Virgin spaceport out at NM.....if that was testing, or if Branson was going to do the pax flights from there or not.

In all honesty what will probably happen is we will get a lame briefing on some CBI that no one will really pay attention to, then a few months before the first time this thing starts flying we will have some obscure R&I to look at (again, most will not pay much attention to it). Then on the day of the first descent/arrival someone will say, "What the hell am I supposed to do with this guy?".
