Continental 1803 video

Thanks for posting that! Definitely hit the spot, as I remember looking out the window when I was 5 or 6 going into Newark to visit my relatives...where it all started almost.

It all began for me when I was six and I flew LHBP-KCLE on Malev back in 1996. I got to see Greenland and other sights, and the sensation was awesome. Since then, international flights to KCLE have receded. But I hear that Continental is opening up new international flights from KCLE that will most likely be serviced with the 757.

Is that last airport La Guardia? I had no idea that they had that many hubs. I guess we learn something new every day. Thanks all.

mike

Continental has a hub at KCLE, KIAH, KEWR, and in Guam where they operate Continental island hopper flights with the 737-800 and 767-400 between Japan and Guam and some other islands in Micronesia. KCLE actually used to be a United hub in the '70s and '80s.

Well, Air Micronesia, a few flight attendants that I know that commute there and....Continental. (unless that's who CAL acquired several years ago).

Wow this web site needs a dictionary of abbreviations. Haha! I assume CAL is China Airlines. If I am wrong please don't make fun of me. I read a lot on here and I don't really understand the abbreviations. All the 121 and 135 stuff is the type of license a person has right?

Guam's main airport I believe is Agana-Guam Int'l (PGUM). That's were Continental operates it's island hopper flights from. The callsign for those flights is "Air Mike". Continental operates 'Continental Micronesia' flights there.

CAL is China Airlines. COA is Continental.

That airport has some pretty long runways. 10014' and 10015'. I had to flightaware it. Thanks Doug. I guess patience is one thing a person needs to have in order to be successful as a pilot.

Flightaware is also a good website to find out the actual airline abbreviations, only three letter abbreviations though. For some airlines, the two and three letter abbreviations are the same with the exception of a letter, such as COA or CO, AAL or AA. But for others, it's different, such as CPA or CX, which is the two and three letter abbreviation for Cathay Pacific, SCX or SY for Sun Country.

That is one talkative fella. I dunno about ya'll, but I want to sleep on a red eye.

isnt that flight like 6 hours long? i doubt this gentleman was making PAs the entire flight. i believe its normal for a pilot to make a PA at the beginning and end of each flight? it just seems like all the PAs were put into this short video, making it seem like he talked a lot.

They more than likely put that in there to keep it interesting. If you just sat and watched with nothing but music it would be a little boring for MOST people. I love watching all the aviation music videos on youtube.

Welcome to JC!

Some pilots talk WAY too much on the PA.

If you're late, STFU until you're actually underway. Nothing drove me nuts more than pushing back 20 minutes late and having some dork in the cockpit talk about what the flight number was (Too late at this point!) , where we were going (don't I already know?) and where we were flying over (PHX to SLC? We're flying over the Grand Canyon? NO WAI! WHOODATHUNKIT?! :sarcasm:)

If there's in-flight entertainment, keep them to the minimum because you're probably interrupting the movie at a critical moment.

Well that was a red eye flight so I bet there was not any ,"Ladies and gentlemen, if you look to the left or right you will notice the Grand Canyon."

If it is so grand then why can't you see it at FL330 at 2am?
