I totally agree with ya there. People overplay that whole deal waaaaay too much. Just consider any turbocharged recip! Takeoff with power settings 9-10" above the RPM setting is not uncommon. There's one aircraft I've flown that takes off at 34", climbs at 32", and cruises at 25"+. This is while the RPM is between 2300-2500, which is completely within normal and approved limits of the engines.
