Everyone hates on United, but I like them. I like underdogs.
There is absolutely nothing underdog-like about them.Everyone hates on United, but I like them. I like underdogs.

(I prefer scrappy competitors who believe that they’re going to change the business - it’s better to be a pirate than join the Navy.)

(The alternative outcome is highly, highly satisfactory, and for this I am very excited. And wondering why I waited so long.)
Congrats to the mystery member!
Whatever intellectual deficiency I have obviously has precluded me from success in academia, in training and in eight years of professional aviation.Eh, you're one of the smartest and most laser focused, dedicated guys that I know.
I'm very excited. From the first interaction, I really felt like I belonged there. And I think that their model and business is a masterful understanding of consumer behavior in air travel, and also an understanding that a jet that is not in motion is not making any money. (And apparently there's a tray table up front and fantastic quality of life, too.) I had fun at my interview, too, which is NOT something I can say about pretty much any other airline interview I've done thus far - most of them are about somewhere between a visit to the in-laws (tolerable, but you're on edge) and what I imagine a conscious colonoscopy feels like.Everything happens for a reason. Even if we don't know why. Glad to hear that you're excited about the future. Now get out there and make us all proud. But more importantly yourself.
