Concorde

This thread is worthless without pics! I think I'm nursing a half chub

When I was a kid and my parents sent me to the UK for my annual cultural enrichment, I was fortunate enough to live next to a BA pilot. His best friend ran the hangar that the Concordes were maintained etc. On more than one occasion he would take me to work and I was able to run around the Concordes for hours. One of my fondest memories.

I just watched an awesome documentary on Netflix about it. Seriously an awesome machine. I remember growing up near Dulles when it used to fly there and you always knew it was the Concorde coming in or taking off. Man, that thing was loud. I feel lucky, I got to see it often.

I almost mentioned the Valkyrie as a similarly non-disputatious awesome machine. Faster, earlier, even more cutting edge. But not as pretty, and it's nice to see the plucky Brits get a civil airliner right for once. Well, sort of.

If anyone's bored, go watch "Falkland's Most Daring Raid" on youtube. These guys are so much cooler than I'll ever even hope to be. Very much worth you time to watch.

Oh, the Brits have made some kickass military aircraft. The V-bombers (featured, I think, in your video, which I will be watching shortly), the Lightning...hell I believe we gave up and bought a bunch of their Canberras because we couldn't do better. Plus, they pretty much invented the jet engine. But they do seem to have a problem converting in the Civil market...

The video is centered around Vulcans, as well as a lot of cool Victor scenes, I guarantee you'll enjoy it.
