Comrades

Got my transfer rejected due to a write-up for a no call/no show. Whoops. I have to wait until March now. Bummer.

Bummer man, you would enjoy it. Just keep at it!
Well, we lost the Customer Service contract at SFO but we're keeping the ramp for at least 3 years...now I have a guaranteed ramp transfer if I want it. Funny how things work out. I'm exploring my options but I may very well stay with the company and go ramp.

There you go! Good deal buddy!

I like the ramp a lot and would probably be very stressed out upstairs, but I sort of wish I could get in upstairs. It would greatly boost the strength of my FA applications. But even my company's parent company won't even give my application a second glance.

Yeah that's a big plus. I have cards from pretty much everyone, from the VP of Flight Safety International to the 737 fleet captain of Sky King. I'll hold on to them!

There are days I wish I was upstairs, just due to the sheer workload I have below the wing sometimes, but one person calling me a poopy head or some of the other myriad of names I hear thrown at our gate agents and I'd be fired on the spot...Bags don't talk back, plus you get to kick 'em when you're loading them to get 'em into the right spot...helps relieve some aggression.

FYI, 63 bags behind the net in the front bin of a 319 last night with room for about 15-20 more behind the net...If it had been an ANC flight, I would have easily made 110. It's the wierd things you're proud of on the ramp....

FYI, glad to hear it's going to work out for ya Chasen!

Don't forget, crap rolls down hill. The ramp is at the bottom of that hill. All those check-in errors, offloads, mis-tagged bags (all the crap that you may have once done) will now be funneled down to you. ....

And I'd take all of it to get away from the pax at the counters still!! Enjoy!

Just finished ramp training and I'm now cross-utilized an eligible to pick up TDY anywhere Skywest ground handles. TDY is up for grabs all the time, get flown out positive space, put up in a hotel, your regular rate to work a few shifts plus per diem. I'm gonna be picking those things up like candy.

The ramp is insanely awesome, even in the rain and cold. Getting physical when I'm wet and cold just gets the testosterone flowing for me, reminds me of football, I love it. So far I'm the only gate agent who's hanging down there. I fit in way more with this crowd than I did upstairs. Plus I'm meeting way more flight attendants than I ever did upstairs since I don't have passengers coming up and throwing off my game. I highly highly recommend this job over customer service if anyone on here ever gets a choice.
