Talked to Compass today:

2500 TT however times have been averaging higher
4 year degree (required)
ATP
121 experience (500 hour range)
Glass time (500 hour range)
Prefer jet, but many turboprops "Q 400-like" pretty much qualify

You get them onboard big guy?

Mr. Eric Morris, Chief Pilot and all around helluva nice guy, will be in attendance!

Good friend of mine got on with Compass (she's furloughed QX).

She's enjoying her time there and apparently Compass has picked up a good many QX'ers lately. Seems like a good ship to jump on if your's is slowly sinking.

And the chief pilot has got to be one of the coolest guys on Earth.

I'm betting that those mins drop now that the flow-through is gone for new hires. I'd be shocked if they can keep demanding those requirements, even in this jobs environment. Maybe some opportunities ahead for guys with lower times.

I hope you are right! I've been waiting for a call from Compass for a while and still am. I'm close to 2000 TT with 335 ME, 1500+ CFI and a Master's degree in Aeronautical Science, but I don't have any 121/135 time.

I would hope so. My first thought was, "I hope those times include a flow-through".

J.A.?

Friend of mine just quit at QX after 4.5 yrs to go to CPZ.

When I interviewed at Compass in 2009 it was very competetive and they were very selective. The flowthrough was a big selling point for a lot of people.

The people that are already there still get to flow, but all newhires don't get it. Mesaba didn't end up so lucky, unfortunately. Only a few people at the top will still get to flow.

Wow, but we all pretty much expected that to happen when Compass and Mesaba were purchased. I got a call from them shortly after my Omni interview...glad I turned them down. The Delta flow was the only reason I was interested in working there (and that was a HUGE benefit, too!).

The experience level of applicants will go down now that the Delta carrot isn't there anymore, but Compass is still a good opportunity for the next 100 guys hired because they'll be at the top of the list relatively quickly. A regional list, but the top of a list nonetheless. :)
