There was a bunch of interviews this week for FA positions. I think a total of 6 for the Feb 14th new hire class. Another one is supposed to be in March. Get those apps out there.

Break down of the FA interview:

-You will have to read an emergency evacuation command. They're looking for confidence, VOLUME (NOT SCREAMING/There is a difference), and clearness of message.

-You'll also have to do a FA PAX Brief just make sure you take your time, are clear with the message, and be loud enough, but obviously not as loud as the emergency evac.

You'll then have a HR/Customer service question, interview.

Easy Peasy

Turn over is really high at C5 for FA's, I'd really think about if you could afford to do the job before taking it because it doesn't get better. You're working as the only FA on a 37 seat TP and some days just suck. If I wasn't living out of my parents basement, I wouldn't have been able to do the job.

PM any other questions.

thank you jhugz and cmhumphr for your replies. i will def. try looking my best with my suit. im kinda nervous already about the hr interview. do you have to memorize the briefing or read it out loud while holding it? what does it mean when you said "turn over is really at "C5" for FA' s " Wow, the only flight attendant on the plane (just wondering how long are the flights between each trips)

Do you guys both work for Commute Air? Seems like cmhumphr does? :) Unfortunately jhugz, i do live with my parents but just not in the basement....lol so anyways, here is my situation, if i do get the job offer i do want to take it because i am thinking about my future. but i cannot afford to take a pay cut. i make about roughly 35-38K a year working in a warehouse with a stable income while paying for bills, repaying loans, and other necessities for myself. first year pay for FA at Commute Air 15K. do you guys think its a good move to take the job and get my name into an airline and hopefully in the near future transfer to the flight department. i hold a cfi certificate and from time to time i try to fly as much possible when money is not tight. i have about 260 tt.

The turnover rate being high basically means they can't sustain an adequate amount of FA's and they all seem to leave within a year or two. The average leg is about 50 mins to an hour really. You have the Cleveland to Madison flight which is about 2.5 hours long. I work for CommutAir yes, but I'm an intern here working in the corporate office and I'm actually leaving next month on the 15th. As far as making a choice about if you want to be a flight attendant or not, that would be completely up to you and I would definitely say go with what your heart tells you. Personally on a side note, with Republic and ExpressJet hiring as well, they've really been hurting, but if you want a good start into the FA world, I do think CommutAir is a good place to start. It depends on what you want.

For those that are interested, there is a open house in CLE for flight attendants. Check the website for further details.

Hello. I have seen some of your posts about Commutair. I will be having an interview with them on Thursday for a flight attendant position. Many people have said beware, but I need to get my foot in the door somehow. I have some general questions. What is the interview like? What are some of the questions they ask? Do you get notice if they want to hire you that day? What is the reserve status for flight attendants? What are the flight benefits? Where and how long is the training? Is it paid? What are the benefits for health/dental/etc? How does scheduling go?
I have never been drug tested for a job before. Do they do it immediately after the interview or do they make you go get it done somewhere else? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I am really curious ! Thank you for your time!
