Commutable jobs non-airline

maybe that is why I am looking . . . I'm a 3rd year FO and barely make the 1st year FO Pay at Avantair! But you have a lot of letters and numbers before your name, so something tells me you have been at this for a while.

8/6 schedule pay scale: Year 1: FO-$40,000 CA-n/a Year 5: FO-$52,900 CA-$82,300 Year 10: FO-$66,300 CA-$112,000. Maybe if upgrades stop FO pay may get a bump up a little?

ameristar jet chowder in Addison TX is commutable. they strongly discourage it, but I did it for 5 years.

JDP,
Where does the Gulfstream operator fly out of? My current corporate gig allows of commute and always looking for more.
thanks,
Where are these operators, and are the hiring? Or if you know some falcon 50/900 operators that do the same thing let me know!

how was Ameristar?
Well it was a job, pretty tough schedule, lots of time on the road and old airplanes flying all through the night. Lots of days spent on and around the mexico/texas boarder. Pay isn't anything great. Upgrade is fast though. I mean it's better than no job but it isn't for everyone. I can answer specifics if you have any questions

If you have a Metro PIC type you can try Kolob Canyons. They are hiring right now.

I am thinking he is still flying a Navajo or whatever any low time Keylimer is flying. If he was metro qualified he would at least have half a heater if it was broken, also he has not been there long enough to accept the plight of a freight dog.

Kolob Canyon is in Utah. One of the coolest views from the sky I have seen. What's a company called Kolob Canyons doing in Tennessee?

Yeah I was a Navajo and 404 pilot. Times are low at 1600 TT and 460 MELPIC. More than enough for the regionals but not enough to keep moving forward in 135 it seems.

XOJet is home based I believe.

That is correct. 8 on 6 off for most unless you live in Hawaii or some real out of the way place where they will ask you to do a 15 on 13 off. Supposed to hire 40 new pilots for 2012 but realistically the pile of internal recs is deep so unless you know someone there your chances are slim. Either way, there have been those who were hired without one so it never hurts to have your stuff in.
