Commercial ME initial, using 2 aircraft

F'in squares! First you can't pierce your ear now this, wonder what's next.

I don't mind them following the letter of the law. My problem is that there isn't anything that supports his opinion of the way it should be done. It isn't in the PTS or the Regs.

Good thing his opinion carries no regulatory weight then.

Laws are opinions too, you just get in trouble if you ignore or disobey them.

Edit: By the way the point was conformity for the sake of conformity for no logical reason (regulatory or not) just doesn't make sense. Also I missed where piercing your ear or ears was a law (age aside)? I say regulatory because while you shouldn't break a regulation or law, if you see a flaw in it and have a logical reason for it to change then IMO it is your duty to write a letter to the FAA explaining why.

For anyone that missed this I was referring to in the 60s when people got their ears pierced to piss of the squares, or those who conformed. Those that conformed believed you shouldn't pierce your ear, as with 20 squared and such, their opinion had no weight or merit. It was simply what they didn't want to look at. I wasn't referring to the law breaking aspects.

I did my commercial initial in 2 airplanes. Way cheaper! I used a cirrus and an arrow. I did pretty much everything in the cirrus and then one trip around the pattern in the arrow.

How much were paying for the Arrow? The cirrus? When you say way cheaper, what you do you mean? $20? I did my Comm SE in a C177RG in 1.5 - cost me $150.

Not worth the extra hassle in my opinion.
