Comair Mangement: Concessions for Growth!

1. One-year contract extensions, making the pilot agreement amendable in May 2007 and the flight attendant agreement amendable in July 2008;

2. A pay freeze, including longevity increases , for the period of the contract;

3. For pilots, new equipment seat freezes extended to 30 months for captain and first officer positions.

For what?

If the proposal is agreed to, the guarantee for the Comair team includes:

* At least 25 new 70-seaters (hopefully ERJ 170s) and 10 CRJ 200s;

* Everyone included in the Performance Pay Program (PPP) so we work together toward the success of our operation.

At DAL it was called "unprecedented growth", or maybe "Leadership 7.5", nope how about "Product Improvement Program, aka PIP"?

Uh, there were so many...like "Restore The Profession" (that came from the union), or "United Plus"? Gahhh.....

Goes back a long time...way back to "give one for the Gipper" (not Reagan...but the real Notre Dame dude) FWIW Notre Dame to a Boilermaker is the "Northern Indiana Boys Vocational School"! (and a lot more dealing with altar boys!)

Anyhow...the key is...don't buy into the fancy terms. Never, never, never forget...you are labor! No more no less! You are NOT management! Period.

Management operates by the golden rule,

"He who has the gold, makes the rules"!

All this falls under the general heading of Labor 101.
