COMAIR ANNOUCMENT

Actualy new pilots are getting JFK but are able to bid CVG in indoc. I and everyone else in my class got CVG startign about 2-3 months after JFK.

We have openings in all bases (CVG,JFK, GSO, & MCO) from what I have seen with company memos. Only the amount of openings in each base keep changing relative to the new hires that are coming in now. Many new hires this year and at the end of 2006 have been fortunate enough to even get MCO as their base assignment out of new hire training. That being said-the most open positions are currently out of JFK and CVG-however other base options are always possible-just put in for what you want-you might be pleasantly surprised-as many people have been recently.

Just wondering if anyone from here is registered? If so PM me! I'm fixin to call HR today after class and see if I can reserve a spot. This looks like it could be pretty cool.

I emailed and was told to apply online to get an invite. I didnt since I dont have the time yet. Please let me know what they say when you call.

Just called and was forwarded to the guy who deals w/pilots. Of course, he wasn't around so I left him a message. hopefully he calls back soon!

I'm pretty sure that anyone who is interested will get an invite if they want..... we really need more pilots. All the info i've seen on our current staffing projections say that new hire and upgrade classes will be continuing.

Is reserve still forever? On another board I heard an FO was on 3-5+ years rsv!

While I don't know what's going on at Comair, 3-5 years on reserve doesn't sound like a company that's hurting for pilots. If they are short-staffed, I would imagine the time you'd spend on reserve would be minimal. So Max, my guess is that is some bad information you're getting. Dunno though.....anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller?

JFK- Lines are almost immediate- my sim partner from July 2006 is there- and has a line, and from what i hear-many people get lines there because of the expanding amount of flying.

CVG/MCO- i'm not sure about time lines till a line (I'm not based there, dont hear alot)-but people from my class still seem to be on reserve.

GSO-those in the top 30 of 60 have lines, rest is a mix of reserve because we are a much smaller and not as busy of a base, but as a reserve-i find myself being sent everywhere for CVG and JFK trips.

So to answer the question - it depends on the base.

They're doing the thing right now. They're parading everyone through Ops. Bunch a young faces and some chicks too!;) They provided a hearty lunch for them. I guess we get the left overs. Yum!:sarcasm:
