I'd like to ask a quesiton. How do you train to fly for the airlines to fly the small regional turboprops/jets or even bigger(airbus)without going to an airline academy where you leanr all the abbreviations, airline procedures, flight simulation, jet time etc?how can you do that with just college training?This whole college thing is relativly new to me so go easy on me .

you definately need to read the site a lot more.. not so much the forums.. but the perspective articles.. each pilot went thru a different "way" of getting to their goal.. there's the local mom & pop FBO which is a ton cheaper than an academy.. there are the universities with flying programs.. all sorts of ways to get the job accomplished AND save yourself some duckets!

do yourself a benefit and read the site.. then come back and ask us more questions!!

It seems you've asked about this before. Please, please take the time to really read the jetcareers main page. There's lots of places to get your ratings. You DO NOT need to go to some fancy-shmancy "airline academy" in order to qualify for an airline job. Many years ago I, too, considered the 'academy' route. I was a F/A for Eagle at the time, and I went to the ORD chief pilot and he sat me down and had a nice chat during which he informed me of all the same things that everyone here is telling you.

We wish you the best in your search for training. Remember, if you start training somewhere, and you end up hating that place, you do not necessarily have to continue training there!
