Cool lady, and a great story from a time when you could truly work your way up through an organization.

Last I saw here was a few years ago when I was pulling up to WN HQ for a meeting. Noticed a clapped out Honda Civic in front of me and a woman getting out of the passenger seat. I thought surely that couldn't be the former CEO of a Fortune 500 company, but it was quickly confirmed to me - her friend drove her to work each day.

Say what you will about Southwest, they still 100% are a place where a ramper could become an executive or anything short or that if they are capable, ambitious and work long hours. That part of the culture hasn't changed, most high salary non flying jobs there are indeed people who moved up internally. A guy I was a ramp sup with in 2021 makes $260k working 3 days per week in DAL now. But you have to survive the mandatory OT in the beginning where you can seriously spend 70+ hours a week on the ramp with no choice, so you won't get anywhere in that company without a good work ethic.
