Colgan to enter BK?

Here comes Jtrain to tell you how wrong it is and how dumb you are because all jobs are crap and you should be happy to be an airline pilot. Love you train.

Not nearly, just not to go to law school :)

What Jtrain won't tell you is that if you get a good job you can stick it out away from the industry, pay some bills, save some money, and enter when they are hurting for pilots.

Erm...that IS what I'd tell him! Didn't you see my rant about brighter days ahead in the American thread?[/quote]

I think you've got me mistaken with WacoFan.

Wait, are you the lawyer guy or the oil guy?

What would have to change for the position of airline pilot to move from the job category to the career category? Or are you referring specifically to Pinnacle?
No I am referring to the industry.

Better wages and work conditions for one. Pension two. A union that will not sign off on contracts which are meant to whipsaw the pilots against one another three. Biggest and most important, a pilot mentality across the board at airlines to stay unified, act professionally, and improve working conditions by being active members of the union as four.

Pilots are strange birds, and I don't think they can ever become unified and re-create and improve the profession. It's a job, nothing more, one which may pay well for me someday if I stick in it long enough.

He's the oil guy.

I meant more with the rampant negativity, which I don't so much subscribe to. This can be a good job, and the idea that going to law school, or med school, or any other "right and proper path" can have the same results as a bad career flying.

I said it can be a good job. Can be. :)
