colgan/pcl coffee talk (speculation)

LAX tell me its true!

6 planes in one base and 10 in another. Wow and you thought lines sucked now!

Heh, he DID survive the TX heat. :)

I'll believe any base rumors when I see a press release, Uncle Phil has it in his message, and I see it in a bid pack. And it has to be all three. The latest CA vacancy has a Dec class date, but no DAL base. Looks like they're waiting until the VERY last minute.

If it is LAX, it'll go super junior I think. So, you'll probably be one of the senior guys there.

Purple works....unless you have to commute on a weekend. Then you're left to the mercy of loads. With NWA cancelling mainline flights left and right, that's not a very friendly option. I'd have to two/three leg it to LAX from MEM that way, which I would have to do with cancelled flights to DTW. Difference is going to DTW, I wouldn't lose half my day in an airplane. The other factor is crash pad costs. I'm betting a crashpad in DTW is gonna be a decent chunk cheaper than LAX, unless I wanna hot bunk it with about 8 other pilots.

The way things are going, it's starting to look like I'll either be able to hold MEM when I upgrade or a line in DTW. The "street captains" coming in right now are going to DTW/MSP, and they'll all be behind me in seniority when I upgrade.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Whats the latest? How senior is ATL? I am considering PNCL but that LAX sounds like a real bad deal for a guy from the south. I would have to commute most of the way across the country and that just isn't going to work. I don't guess they guarantee a base like AE do they?

ATL is now the most senior base. As in, I MIGHT be able to hold it as an FO, but I'm close to upgrading here in MEM. So, I'm gonna stick it out here.

On a little side note to all this......the FAs at Colgan now have union representation. WTF?!?! Granted it's the United Steel Workers, but it's better than nothing. Well, maybe. I think it's the same union the FAs are in here at Pinnacle. Just more fuel for the integration fire.

Yeah, it's the same lame union that the Pinnacle FAs have. They claimed to have 95% of the cards submitted by the FAs, but the AFA folks beg to differ and are not happy. Should get interesting...

Yeah, isn't that special. No vote, no fight from management. Funny that management fought us to the end with their nonsense smear campaign against ALPA and they up and roll over for the FA's. :whatever:

I'll tell ya why. That union has no clue. Seriously. The FAs here sold themselves up the river for a free bag that they have to kick with both feet to get in the overhead bin.

Colgan (aka Pinnacle Holdings) let that union go in before a stronger, better organized union that knows the ins and outs of the airlines (like the AFA) was voted in.

I asked a flight attendent once why they still had such soft language in their contract. Response: "The company won't let us get rid of it." WTF??!!!

ha ha ha ha I feel bad most of the FA's have to gate check those bags on every leg... then walk up and do it again.
