Colgan (again)

Not at all. Take a look at XJT or any other regional out there. You are going to be going between CLE, IAH, or EWR (MAYBE LAX once in a while) all day

More or less! I did months on end where my only landings were in SLC.

I see...I guess if you really loved flying it wouldn't matter where you're going anyways! :-) I'm only 19 and only have 280TT and 0ME with at least 2.5 years left of college, so I have some time to make up my mind. :-)
Doug, I'm a ramper for Delta in CLE and we always get the MD-90, you ever fly that leg?

Yup!

Remember someone that was madder than a wet hen that they sat on the ramp for 15 minutes because we didn't have rampers a couple weeks ago? That was me! :)

Seggy, can you post a trip or two of yours just so we can see a typical schedule?

Hmmm...what day was it? I used to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, but now it's Thurs, Fri, Sat. I think I may have seen you while I was bringing bags up. Sorry about keepin' y'all waiting out there! :-X. I'll keep an eye out for ya!

Wow 15 mins without rampers? The card game must have been good or Jerry Springer was on.

Three days a week the last two weeks of the month

The thing you NEED to understand is that this changes. I do the roundtrip in the morning but then 9/10 I am ferrying an airplane. I am flying about 90 hours or so a month.

2 numbers=how long your turn time is

Just to toss in another schedule thing...

One of the things I like about PCL is you aren't necessarily flying in and out of the same hub all day long. Yeah, there are some days I do nothing but fly from MEM to somewhere and back, but most of the time that's rare. Here's an FYI...

MEM-TYS-DTW-AZO
AZO-MSP-GFK-MSP-ICT
ICT-MEM

That's a common type of three day here. I've had a few days where I did the "hub tour" and actually flew into all three hubs in one day.

Dont forget our mini hub in IND, we used to do MKE as well. we do a lot of non hub flying in and out of DCA too. If ther is a good thing about pinnacle, its that we get to go to a lot of different places, not just in and out of ur domicile for 4 days straight. Cuz i can only brief the ILS 30R so many times.

The pinnacle guys get to know BGM well enough to know that the lady that opens the tower in the morn is lying when she calls the freezing rain "moderate."

I'd say right now would be a time to get on with colgan, if this expansion stuff starts happening. I think that they've gotten most of the united stuff under their belt and are ready to look towards something new. Also, the G gates in IAD are gone :)

I'm a big fan of TDY and we've been able to write our own schedules at my base for the past 4 months, pick nights, pick weekends off, pick only mornings, etc... Then do TDY to get some overnights if you want. I find it quite nice to get a sampling of everything, except I dont want to sample Presque Isle ever again. Not until July.

What are the odds of getting houston as a base with Colgan.

Chad

Last training class had 3 guys get IAH straight out of training and they didn't even want it!!!

I had it first on my list last year, but got BUF. Was only in BUF for two months and then transferred to IAH. IAH is the only base where you get overnights at Colgan.

Schedules aren't great, but aren't bad either. Sometimes crew scheduling can work you over pretty good, and other times they work with you. You learn not to answer the phone on your days off if you're not willing to work. I've been junior manned a few times and lost days off when I had plans. Also have my schedule changed on my working days on a regular basis, ruining plans I have with friends and family. That's my only major complaint with Colgan, other than the really low pay.

All in all, it's ok here. I'm dissappointed that the upgrade looks like it will be 2 years for me now. But it's ok.

If you have 100 ME, send in your stuff. You never know. Last year they had 1,000 TT posted on their site. I had a friend who got on with 750, so I knew they would go below the 1,000. At 500TT, I sent in the airlineapps thing, figuring I'd update it each week till I had what they were looking for. Got a call one day later, interviewed four days later, started class two weeks after that with 560TT!

Send in your stuff if you're at all interested. They're in BIG need of FO's.

Are there any other regionals who do this or is a pretty uncommon thing?
