What Tomcatter or what ever the hell his name is was / is wrong. But we should not destroy his life over it. He was probably trying to live a fantasy and got carried away. I hope that he learned his lesson. We all have screwed up at one time or another. I am not saying that we welcome him back and send him a fruit basked. But one thing is for sure he definitely does not deserve to get his life turned upside down. Let’s leave CNET out of this.

Agree with SJFlyer. He's owned up to his foolishness and has left the building, so to speak. Time to let it go.
 
I also agree with SJFlyer. Theres no need to ruin that man's life. I'm sure he's reading this and knows that he can get in major trouble. He apologized in another post. Hopefully he's learned his lesson.

We all like to believe what we read, but it is the www and for the most part anynomous (sp!). Everything read on here should be verified.

Sorry man I can't agree with you here. While most of us have fantasies about one thing or another, when it comes to actually acting out on them it is something all together different. This person has demonstrated the lack of basic self controll, and this is not ( sorry Mike you blew this one ) a 15 yr. old, it is a "mature" adult working in a highly sensative part of our society. What worries me is what is his "new" fantasy or what might he come up with next. He obviously has a need for being on a pedastal, otherwise he would have said he was a C-12 pilot rather than a F-14 pilot. He is akin to the guy who lights a fire then rushes in to save the day to be held up as a hero, when the truth really is otherwise. I would serioulsy encourage those with the proper information to make it know to his supervisors, it is something they deserve to know. I would even go so far as to question whether or not this indivdual is capable of recieving a medical under the pyschological considerations. This is NOT a person I would want flying my airplane.

I disagree that since he has fessed up and deserves to be allowed to slip off into the cyber world of forgottenness. If it were in fact a 15 yr. Old that is one thing but he is not, unless he is lying about everthing else. We are not responsible for his behavior so we are not responsible for its consiquences. To know to do right and not to do it is wrong.

I guess I didn't make that clear. What I meant is that if you do a little puffery, like saying you've got 500 hours when you've got 482, that's one thing.

But if you're a student pilot who hasn't soloed yet and you're talking about having 500, that's another.
