Cockpit Security for International Carriers

The lack of knowledge on use of the cage makes me cringe. A lot. Also, please don’t put my meal in the lav. Thanks.

Because people continue to chose convenience and the need to be liked over following procedure.

“I gotta stay off the meme page!” :)

Wouldn’t these people who blow off policy for their own convenience, be ripe to be sent to professional standards?

I really don’t have that option as Flight Standards because it’s like saying “someone butchered a missed approach, call professional standards”, I have to address the deviance and then follow the procedure if it continues.

PS is a double-edged sword. Usually they’re good and handle the situation. Often times, it’s largely “Hey, complain at me, I’ll call the other pilot and listen to him bitch about you, all in order for you not to talk to the company”.

Sounds like the same thing I deal with as LCP. Have to report problems to myself.

Sensible or otherwise, is following SOP really that much of an ask? We obviously don't have the same situation w/r/t cockpit security in freight, but I dutifully check all of the nooks and crannies for bombs (fake or otherwise) every time. Because that's what they pay me to do.

It will be interesting to see whether the general disapprobation towards this admittedly tedious task changes now that the Russkies are trying to ignite us...

Yes!

Via the results of a highly unscientific Facebook poll, “everyone” has decided it isn’t worth the effort to do that any more.

The same whiners at SJ who were mad at the company a year ago and “we’re going to refuse to wear our hats, because we are mad.”.
