Cockpit life and long transits?

Why do you show up when he tells you to? My contract said when I had to be at the airport, and my FOM said when I needed to be at the duty station (airplane). If he wanted to leave earlier, then I told him I'd meet him there. There were lots of times that I took a different van than the captain.

Love the am radio, hearing an older lady say 'but Rush told me Romney would win and everything would be ok' over Tucson was a classic.

Can't stand people that start meetings early. Stick to the time please.

Call me anal retentive about that...

I absolutely HATE when we have a, say, 12:45 show. Vans run on the top and bottom of the hour. 10-15 min van ride. Captain wants to sched the crew for a noon van because a "12:30 would be cutting it too close." Are you serious?! Our "contract" (more agreement here) and FOM say be at the airport at show time and to our station 30-35 mins before depending on aircraft. To me, if I'm standing on the curb, in front of the terminal, bags being unloaded from the van, at our show time, then I'm considered at the airport on time. I don't need to be there at 12:15 for a 13:30 departure. Takes me all of 5 mins to program the FMS. And we can't even get a clearance until 30 prior anyways.

Sorry, drives me nuts. Along with the guys that eat granola bars, nuts, carrots, etc without turning off the hot mic.

I think you and I would have gotten along well had we flown together. :)

When we're in or around airplanes, we talk about women. And when we're, um... In or around women, we talk about airplanes. Something like that.
