CJC Sick Pay?

Anyone know how we're supposed to get paid for a sick call, particularly if we're blocked for 7+ hrs that day? What about if we've already flown a leg, then call out, when we were still blocked for another 6? This is all hypothetical, of course, but I should (hypothetically) get more than just the block for the one leg I flew before calling out, right?

Don't you have a "sick bank"? I was under the impression that was generally how it worked for any job. For example if you have 50 hours sick time stored you simply use it up as you call in sick. If the day's credit was 3 hours you have 3 hours deducted, if it was 7 hours you have 7 hours deducted.

Well, I called off sick the other day while on reserve and was given 3.75 hours, which was more than being on reserve. However, in your case I am thinking you should get block+3.75 hour pay credit.
The bottom-line at Colgan Air is if you are under guarantee they can abuse the daylights out of you.

I think it's the feeling when your over guarantee that your actually getting paid for the abuse, so it doesn't hurt so bad.

I don't think you'll get the block plus 3+45. I think you'll either get what you flew plus 3+45 or just 3+45 total for the day.

You get 3.75 for the day only. If you flew an hour, your sick time will onlynbe charged 2.75. If you fly over you get paid what you flew

Thanks guys! Whatever the case is, how they have it is wrong (flew 1:37 + DH home, credit for the day is 2:37) so I'll bug them about it tonight. I'll be interested to see how they dock my sick balance, now. They already tried to give me a miss during this whole ordeal, thankfully BM got that little cluster all straightened out.

The issues w/ scheduling and sick time are being addressed right now. You will here more 'official information' about this in the near future.

The pilot pushing will stop! DON'T FLY SICK because you're threatened w/ a missed trip. Also, no need for Dr.'s note unless you're calling out multiple times in a short time frame (couple months).

Or unless you're calling in the day before, day of or day after the Super Bowl. Or is management only doing that to us Pinnacle Inc guys?

Yeah, that sounds very familiar. So, don't feel as though you guys are the only ones getting the 'special' sick call treatment.
