CJC MEC FastRead - Role of Merger Committee

Seeing this exact process unfold for the other regional merger going on right now, I am extremely skeptical that the decision to attempt to complete this process in 45 days is really in the best interests of the new combined pilot group.

Did they offer you a significant equity stake to get this done in 45 days? If they did, where is the money coming from? How much money was offered?

If a sizable equity stake wasn't offered....What is the motivation to attempt to accomplish this in such a short period of time?

The main leverage the JNC has in this situation is the company's desire to realize the 'synergies' of the acquisition. Why would the JNC agree to dispose of this leverage?

Something doesn't add up here....

One more thing:

The JCBA is exponentially more important to the day to day life of the post merger pilot group than the SLI. People understand the concept of a list, but it takes a little bit of effort to understand the process of negotiating a JCBA.

The JCBA is far more important than the SLI, but relatively few pilots understand this.

The USair and America West situation is good for no pilot. Something like that would be the ultimate failure, and, keeps me up at night.
