Citation Sale?

One Citation Mustang, for the sparkly-eyed shiny-jet-loving kids.

We call those kids go-getters. I hate how some people on this board make fun of kids who want to advance quickly and try their best to get there. They are the ones with the drive to get farther faster. So if you ever feel like making fun of "Shiny Jet Syndrome" kids again, think twice about what you are really saying about them and yourself.

"Whoa" is all I can say to that statement!

...and who is "we?" I think you'll find most in disagreement with your statement.

P.S.-Wanting to pay to fly a Citation Mustang is not a good way of having "the drive to get there faster."

So if you had the opportunity to fly a Citation Mustang as a student, you wouldnt accept?

I don't know if you're flamebait or not, but I'll answer anyway and the short answer is a big no. I don't have mommy and daddy willing to pay $1500/hr for a "joy ride" in a Citation. Even if papi has the money, it would be STUPID to shell out that kind of money just to satisfy one's shiny-jet wet dreams.

Unless it was free (or at least >$100/hr), I wouldn't. You'd be paying so much per hour.

I'd rather take the $1500 I'd spend on one hour, and go split time with a friend. I'd rather have 40 more hours than one hour turbine time, personally.

I don't think this is a bad quote at all. I have met only a few people that exhibit SJS. I think SJS is just an excuse for those who have walked the walk to hold themselves above those beginning the journey.

I don't blame most UND students as having bad SJS. Most students will take at least 5 years to become the almighty regional FO through UND. If you go to to ATP or Gulfstream i don't think there is a question. You can go from zero to hero in less than three years there. Even a true go getter going to Mom and Pop's FBO will get to the almighty regional quicker.

I remember 1 student when i was at UND who took the Cheyenne to do the long cross country to ORD. I hope the few people who exercise this option only do it for fun because they can. People who think that 2 hours in a Cheyenne or Mustang will separate them from the pack need an adjustment.

UND had a commercial that showed the Mustang on ESPN 2 during the BS la crosse game that should be the hockey game . Maybe that will get a few students. God they are cheesy but i am yet to see a good college commercial.

I've been away from UND for a while now, but what was the deal with the Mustang? Was it intended for students to do training in it or was it just another means of transportation for Dean Smith to get to his golf games in the Cities?

Yeah thats a good question. I was also wondering is it really that much faster/cheaper to fly that thing versus a King Air or another type of corporate jet?

Who gets to fly the King Air at UND? I'm suprised they're using a 90 for the contract students. i know of another flight school that got in trouble because theiir 90 was too light to qualify for the students 15 hours of KA time.

Air China. they used a b200 last year and still have it on the ramp this year, but apparently they can use the 90 because they are.

I know Air China flys it, almost all chinese airlines require their pilots X amount of KA time and X amount of aerobatic time. Who instructs? I assume its someone in the offices behind disbatch.

A bunch of leads instruct. For them the C90 or B200 is the same time to meet CAA times. I think they each get 20pic in it.
